Dr. Annette Lorenz, Secretary and Director
Annette graduated with an Honours B.A. in Psychology from Guelph University, and then earned Masters and
Doctoral degrees in Psychology from the University of Toronto. She became licensed in clinical psychology in Ontario in 1989 (Ed.D., C.Psych.).
Annette has had clinical practice focuses in health, disability, forensic and criminal psychology. She has developed innovative individual and group educational programs for those with complex chronic clinical conditions. She has utilized movie clips and self-hypnotic techniques to help relieve distressing symptoms, promote restorative sleep, encourage self-management, and enhance self-confidence with a view to assisting adjustment of life purposes.
She serves as a Director and Chair of the Education Committee of the Canadian Society of Clinical Hypnosis- Ontario Division, and, with her committee, has developed popular annual Introductory, Intermediate, and Advanced Courses in Clinical Hypnosis over the last several years that have been accredited as Continuing Education for physicians.
Annette also serves on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Academy of Psychologists in Disability Assessment, is Chair of their Education Committee, and is a Full Clinical Member of the Ontario Psychological Association and the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. She is listed with the Canadian Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology, and the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards.
