MS. ELEANOR JOHNSTON

Director

Eleanor graduated from York University with a B.A., and did administrative work as well as volunteering for a number of patient groups regarding health-related issues.
She was appointed by the Ontario Ministry of Health to serve on the Clinical Research Advisory Board (CRAB), which helped to establish the provincial  Environmental Health Clinic at Women’s College Hospital and the Environmental Hypersensitivity Research Unit at the University of Toronto.

After the programs were started, and CRAB disbanded, she was a patient representative providing advice and support to both programs, and has continued volunteer activities with a number of organizations. From 2012-13, she was a member of the Steering Committee that made recommendations to the government about expansion of the clinical and research programs, which now serve patients with Environmental Sensitivities/Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Fibromyalgia.
